Physical Therapy
Glee Pascual is our Physical Therapist at Doctors’ Choice Physical Medicine and Rehab. Her emphasis in the practice of physical therapy is orthopedic: physical therapy treatment for muscles and joints.
Orthopedic physical therapists diagnose, manage, and treat disorders and injuries of the musculoskeletal system as well as rehabilitate patients post orthopedic surgery.
Orthopedic therapists are trained in the treatment of postoperative joints such as:
- hip and knee replacements,
- knee surgery, and
- shoulder surgery.
They also treat:
- acute sports injuries,
- arthritis,
- back pain,
- neck pain, knee and foot pain, and
- carpal tunnel and hand pains.
Some of the treatments she provides are:
- Joint mobilizations,
- strength training,
- hot/cold packs,
- electrical stimulation,
- ultrasound
- neuromuscular re-education, and
- myofascial release.
Glee Pascual, PT practices in a unique position at Doctors’ Choice. She has access to many types of rehab equipment that are only available locally at our office. For instance, for neck and back problems we have very specialized MedX Testing equipment to test the strength of neck and back muscles. (See Chronic Low Back Pain in Pottsville, Remarkable Treatment Results). We also have Active Therapeutic Movement equipment for neurological retraining of back, neck, hip, and shoulder muscles. (See Revolutionary Back Pain Relief Treatment for Schuylkill County).
She also uses a new medical device for the non-surgical treatment of carpal tunnel. Studies show the treatment results have been exceptional, even for previous physical therapy failures! (See Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Non-surgical Pain Relief in Schuylkill County),
Another advantage for you is that Glee Pascual PT practices with a chiropractic physician, and several massage therapists. Did you know that “hands on therapy”, as we practice in our office, was the treatment of choice for chronic back pain as reported by Consumers Report members? (See Schuylkill County: LOW BACK PAIN: PATIENTS REPORT WHAT WORKED)
And these are just some of the unique benefits that physical therapy at Doctors’ Choice can provide.
If you have suffered an injury or disease affecting the muscles, bones, ligaments, or tendons of the body you can benefit from an assessment by a physical therapist specialized in orthopedics.
Below you will find a short list of questions to help you decide whether you need help from a physical therapist:
- Do you feel pain in your muscles or joints?
- Do you have grinding noise within a joint?
- Have your muscles become weak and tight?
- Did you recently have a car accident – and from that time suffer from headaches, neck, back, shoulder, or knee pains?
- Did you recently have an operation on your shoulder, knee, or foot?
